The most magnificent of crochet sea animals is the crochet walrus. Although I say magnificent, this is actually a cute crochet walrus pattern. Because it is made with small and plush yarn. In our series “I learn animals”, I wanted to feature this walrus, one of the crocheted sea animals, today. The walrus’ teeth were made with two small yarns. If you wish, you can choose different accessories.

Materials:

Yarn used: premier parfait chunky in teddy bear (yarn size #6-super bulky) & lion brand feels like bliss in cocoa (yarn size #5- bulky).
4.5 mm hook.
12/14mm safety eyes
Sewing needle
Scissors
Stitch marker
Polyfil stuffing

Body

R1. 8 sc in MR (8)
R2. (inc)x8 (16)
R3. 4sc, (1sc,1inc)x4, 4 sc (20)
R4. 4sc, (2sc,1inc)x4, 4 sc (24)
R5-6. 24 sc (2 rounds)
R7. 4sc, ch 3, starting in 2nd ch from hook (1slst, 1sc), slst into same st as ch, 17 sc, ch 3, starting in 2nd ch from hook (1slst, 1sc), slst into same st, 3 sc.
R8. 4sc, (2sc,1dec)x4, 4 sc (16)
Place eyes between R3 & R4, 7 sts apart.
R9. 20 sc (20)
R10. 4sc, (1sc,1dec)x4, 4sc (16)
Begin stuffing.
R11. 4sc, (dec)x4, 1sc (9)

Crochet the tail

You’ll be working in an oval shape.
I am using a easy to see cotton yarn for demonstration.
Ch4, starting in 2nd ch from hook, 3sc down, turn, you’re now working in the other side of the ch, 6 inc in 1st, 1 slst, 6 inc in 1st, 1 slst.
FO, leave long tail for sewing.

Sewing mouth & tusks to body

Sew mouth starting in R2 of the body around.
Use a piece of white yarn to sew 2 strings for the tusks.
